Vitality Velvet rich face Creme is a whippy twist on our best-selling Vitality Face Treatment oil. Face cream with a feather-light texture yet intense nourishment.

There used to be a time when face oils were demonized and frowned upon, nevertheless, I still released back in 2010, Therapeutic and Vitality because I knew how transformative high-quality face oils can be. 

Following trends just for the sake of following them was never my forte, as I firmly believe that each release comes at the time it is meant to be.

Today is Vitality Velvet's time.

The idea of creating a cream formula was in the pipeline for years, and the road to its release was a rollercoaster. There was always something preventing me from being utterly satisfied. Thus I decided to trust the process and free myself from any deadlines until it would all come together. I wanted it to be optimal on all levels: formula, efficiency, texture, and scent. In addition to providing a genuine benefit for the skin, it had to provide a sensorial experience as each of our products does. 

 

An elevated face cream to restore the skin into a calm, plump, and nourished canvas.

It contains stimulating warm and fresh notes of coffee bean, rose, and orange blossom. It's a delectable aroma, noticeable enough to provide aromatherapeutic benefits. In this case, it's a de-stressing aroma to relax your nervous system which is directly tied to your skin health (see our post about the limbic system here.

Vitality Velvet leaves the skin radiant, soft, and supple because it is abundant in ingredients with brightening and plumping properties.

Mature and/or dry skin will benefit the most from it, and it is both suitable for  colder temperatures as it coats the skin impeccably, but also all year round because the feeling it leaves on the skin is addictive: it's an instant skin-quencher. 

As a cream, it nourishes, smoothes, and plumps the skin. It gives a natural, dewy finish and keeps the looking soft and hydrated all day long.

Its lightweight, fluffy texture nurtures the skin without overwhelming it. I am so used to oils and their silky textures that I wanted a cream that feels exquisite upon application and I am delighted with the whippy, velvety texture we were able to achieve (hence its name velvet): there is no stickiness, no heaviness, no oily or greasy residue; it massages beautifully onto the skin to nurture it. 

Doubles as a perfect priming base before makeup as it gives a soft blurring effect, skin is aptly prepped and primed for a smooth makeup look. I am also obsessed with the natural illuminating sheen it imparts without any makeup needed.

 

What's in it?

Formula-wise, I included my signature botanical powerhouse blend which comprises extracts of horsetail, marshmallow, chickweed, licorice root, lemon balm, calendula, ashwagandha, burdock, plantain, and fennel seed. These are outstanding ingredients that provide the right amount of antioxidants and vitamins our skin needs to remain vibrant and serene. 

Marshmallow root, for instance, is a must-have in my formulating kit because it brings this "gel-like" protective layer to the skin, in addition to being supremely hydrating and boosting anti-inflammatory activity. 

Horsetail is a powerhouse of silica, which is why it is my favorite to provide plumping benefits and soften wrinkles. 

I opted for a versatile aloe vera base because aloe vera stimulates cellular production faster, which means that it speeds up skin regeneration and healing. 

I like to keep my skincare routine minimalistic, favoring quality over quantity. The key is a sophisticated formula. I don't layer up a myriad of products, I use the herbal balancing oil cleanser, follow up with the herb-infused toner, the essential eye oil treatment, and seal everything with the face cream. It's all I need to keep my skin boosted and hydrated. 

If you want to "lighten up" the cream, you can also mix it with a few drops of our toner, especially during warmer months. It becomes less dense in texture yet remains equally active and effective.
